Lintons Managed Services began service at two new and exciting schools in the fall. Valley Forge Educational Services located in Paoli and Pathway School located in Norristown. Both private schools are a short distance from the corporate office.

Valley Forge Educational Services was established in 1959, as a small private school serving children with learning challenges, has now grown to a twenty-eight acre campus. VFES encompasses a wide variety of educational services from Luma Center for Development Learning, Vanguard School, Vanguard Transistion Center and a summer program called Summer Matters. The school enrolls about 150 students. Lintons team is headed up by Edie Kish as cook supervisor and Meghan Mattia. Thanks to Russ Hengst, Robert Frasier and the staff for assisting with the transition and opening of this unit.

Pathway School, founded in 1961, provides educational and therapeutic services to young people with learning challenges. It spans on an 11-acre campus in Norristown, PA. The school enrolls about 150 students from a wide range of ages. Heading up our staff there is Mary Kay O’Brien as cook supervisor and Anita Leyrer. A big thank you to Gabe Sosa for assisting with the opening of Pathway.

Each supervisor works together with students daily teaching practical skills through a culinary program. This offers students opportunities to gain knowledge and self-confidence.

Gone are the long tables, foam trays and the lines through the cafeteria. Students are eating around round tables and through the family style setting social interaction and communications between students and staff is encouraged.

Along with Wissahickon’s cafeteria transformation, emphasis is placed on nutrition education which is crucial to shaping behavior that will lead to children becoming healthy eaters. Once a month Lintons features one healthy eating or lifestyle objective through posters, table tents or other material used in the school cafeteria. TEAM Nutrition reinforces positive nutrition messages and encourages students & staff to make healthy food and physical activity choices as part of a healthy lifestyle. Student Table captains chosen don chef coats each lunch service and help set the tables and serve the meals. Know as an environmental school Wissahickon students are also composting 75% of their waste including the numerous milk carton used for meal service. Special thanks to Prestige Packaging, USFoods, Singer Equipment and 1st Image for donations of serving utensils, plates, bowls and chef coats. Lintons Managed Services is lucky to have such a wonderful partner in Wisshaickon, their administration including Kristi Littel, Jamal Elliott, Kellie Coleman and the numerous Wissahickon teachers and staff that gave of the time so that their program was success. Appreciation goes out to the Lintons Staff including William Murray & Nancy Hibbard.
